Burton Posey

I am an interactive & game designer/developer currently living in the Atlanta area. I’ve been fascinated practically my whole life with video games and all things interactive. I got my start taking apart old tape recorders that my grandfather gave my family. I probably went through four or five of them, maintaining a perfect record for not being able to put them back together completely. Soon thereafter, my grandfather brought my sister and me a Tandy Color Computer 2 in a black trashbag. With the Tandy and a few books (also included in the trashbag), I inadvertently learned how to program for the first time using BASIC. Thus launched my fascinations with computers and graphics.

Fast forward several years later. I managed to fall head over heels for Flash. The ability to quickly turn my ideas into a interactive visual experiences was a perfect fit. Utilizing my academic studies of game design principles, level design, with a little special effects thrown in for good measure, and I’ve managed to have a blast doing what I get to do.

I’m constantly learning and finding opportunities to grow in the interactive and games industry. More recently, I’ve picked up the Unity game engine (sometimes called Unity3d) and I’m working on a few pet projects in my nights and weekends. If you can create a connection with a person and play with their emotions to convey a message, I want to dig in. I believe that the focus should be on what your user/customer wants to see, think, or feel. Keeping those those desires to experience these things in mind, you can create engaging and memorable experiences.

Above all else, I just feel very blessed to get the opportunity to do what I really enjoy doing for a living. I’ll never stop learning new things and meeting great new people. You cannot ask for too much more.
